Intro for Renata Karajanova
Hello, I’m Renata, an alumni student of the Academy for Software Testing, otherwise a graduate economist in E-Business at the Faculty of Economics. A big fan of good books, currently in the process of building a home library 😊
What motivated you to enroll in the SEDC Software Testing Academy ?
When I decided that I wanted to make a career change, Software Testing was the first job that attracted me because it offers a very interesting and challenging career, you have room for creativity and innovation, constant learning and development. I had heard many positive comments about SEDC, their program was very well organized, so my choice was easy.
Did you have any knowledge of the IT field before entering the academy ?
Minimal. My previous job was in the field of finance and administration, so I would say that my knowledge of the IT field was minimal before I enrolled in the academy.
Are you team manual or team automated testing?
Balance between the two 😊 Both types of testing – manual and automated are applicable in different cases depending on different factors – budget, project requirements and structure, available resources and time, and are not mutually exclusive, but should be carefully chosen when manual , and when automatic testing.
Both, each for its own purpose.
What challenges did you face during the academy ?
I would say that working on a real project at the very end of the academy was the biggest challenge for me. We worked in a team with colleagues from other academies, and then for the first time you get a feeling of what it would be like to work in a team consisting of developers, designers, testers.. Communication and teamwork from the beginning to the end of the project was a great challenge and a very nice experience for me.
Time management is also a challenge. During that period, I had a full-time job, after which I was in a hurry to get to lectures, and after the lectures you have to find time to complete the assigned homework and learn something more about the subject.
What advice would you give to those who want to enroll in this academy ?
For all those who are hesitating to start a career in Software Testing , I recommend it as a really interesting field, with lots of opportunities and I encourage you to take that next step. Believe in yourself and if you put in enough time and effort, I believe it will pay off.
Create your own success story through the software testing academy!
Enrollment for the new group is ongoing, we start on November 20!
