Hello Gorjan, firstly, please describe yourself in 5 words.
Curious, honest, humorous, ambitious, self-critical.
How did the Web Design Academy fit into your future career plans?
I see the academy as a springboard that gives me familiarity with the basic principles of working with Web Design and is the first step towards a change from my previous position in the aviation domain.
Your favorite part of the classes?
Final individual projects as the biggest challenge for me were also my favorite part of the classes. The topics set by professors had a wide range of possible potential clients, and in the tasks themselves, I found a summary of all aspects covered in teaching.
Did the work duties coincide with everything you learned at the Academy?
Yes, the knowledge transferred by professors in their respective spheres fits well into the demands web designer position had. I am certainly still upgrading in all spheres while I work, but the Academy has given me a great basis of knowledge.
What does it mean to be a Web Designer?
Web Designer is an intermediary between the user and the owner of the website/business that offers some kind of product while finding a format that will be easily understandable to both parties concerned, packed in a beautiful design.
Finally, a recommendation to all future students?
As funny as it sounds, the best advice I can give is to listen carefully to lectures and to do the required tasks in parallel. It was the full introduction into project development that helped me get to know the programs we studied better and feel confident applying for jobs.
If you also want to start a career in Web Design or Front-End Development, now is the time!
